Rambunctious Bowie may be a pup in kittenâs clothing: Send us your pet rescue stories
MEDINA, Ohio -- Bowie came into my life last September after a family friend found a litter of kittens in her back yard. I couldn't resist his adorable little half-gray face and had to bring him home -- and he's been a spitfire ever since.
Although we're unsure of who Bowie's father is, I'm convinced it was a dog of some sort. Because Bowie may look like a kitten, but he acts like a puppy.
Starting very young, Bowie learned that his favorite activity was a nice game of fetch. He also enjoys chasing me around the house, giving me kisses when I ask, crying at the door if I leave the house, begging for snacks at the dinner table and cuddling up to watch TV at the end of the night. The most cat-like thing he does is purr.
When the COVID-19 outbreak began, I was still based in New York City. I had to make the tough decision to flee the city and come home to Medina, where I could have more space and safety, but obviously I couldn't leave my kitten behind in an empty apartment.
Bowie had his first airplane ride in March and has been livin' it up and keeping my anxiety levels sane during this weird time.
Bowie has many quarantine activities of his own. He's famous within my work team and always pops in to online work meetings for ALL the attention, chases my mouse on my computer screen, and loves to meow at the neighbors while he guards the house by looking out the window.
Although I know he'll miss all this space once we return to the city, we can't wait to get back to our usual life (and guard my apartment from the rats of NYC).

Medina
